Message of the Dean

        Change is inevitable. So, itis not surprising that we are in the thick of it. I then hope that the excitement that accompanies changes in UPV Cebu can aptly be conveyed to you in these pages - and convince you, finally, to help us propel ourselves into the next century.

        The College's journey to the top began with one of our academic departments having been awarded Center of Excellence in I.T. (Information Technology) Education. And I see no reason why our other programs should be left behind.

        The pages in this site (especially, those that track our growth and reflect our vision) should give you an idea of where we are now, where we are going, and how you can help us get there.

        Welcome to UPV Cebu.

Know the Dean

Dr. Enrique Avila entered UP Cebu in 1991, Second Semester.

He taught lower courses in the Biology program such as Ecology, Oceanography, and Zoology.

He took over the position as Dean after the term of Dr. Jesus V. Juario on December 2003 up to December 2006, which was his first three year term.

He was re-elected for his second term.
Objectives/Thrusts
  • strengthen some of the school's programs, specifically the graduate program
  • focus direction in terms of academic area
  • focus on where UP Cebu is “going”
  • take a look at other concerns that would make UP Cebu a unique regional campus
  • review of some of the graduate programs such as the Master of Science in Environmental Studies and Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning
Programs/Projects
  • Renovation of the physical infrastructures of the College
  • Promote Cebuano Language and Culture as part of UP President Emerlinda Roman's 10-point Agenda
  • Put up a database of the Dean's Office as the center of the College
