REGISTRATION |
|
A student must be officially registered in order to receive credit for course work. The Official Registration Form (UP Form 5 or Form 5-B), which is a record of classes for which the student has enrolled, is filed in the office of the College Secretary. Students may also inquire with their respective academic advisers and the College Secretary's Office on how to use the Computerized Registration System.
Special students (without credits) may register at any time without the payment of fine for late registration, subject to other regulations of the University. |

REQUIREMENTS |
In general, secondary school graduates who have not yet enrolled in college and those who expect to graduate from a secondary school are required to take the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) to qualify for admission. Graduates from high schools outside the Philippines and have not enrolled in college may be admitted into non-quota programs as beginning freshies without taking UPCAT, if they qualify in such college-qualifying examinations as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the General Certificate of Education Examination (GCEE).
In additon he/she has to meet the following requirements:
1. Completion of the high school program in the country where he/she had his/her secondary education. (This includes completion of a one or two-year pre- university education in a country where such is a pre-requisite for admission to a bachelor's program)
2. In case of an applicant whose native language or whose medium of instruction in the secondary school is not English, a minimum score of 500 in the Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL). |
Incoming Freshies |

For the first and second semester admission, the UPCAT is administered in August of the preceeding year at UP Diliman and at regional test centers, including UPV Cebu College.
Those who intend to take the Certificate in Fine Arts are not required to take the UPCAT, but they have to pass an art talent test . Inquiries regarding the schedule of the art talent test can be forwarded to the Humanities Division (032) 233-8202.
The following are the additional requirements to be submitted to the College Secretary before registration:
- UPCAT Admission Notice (original & 1 xerox copy).
- HS Report Card (Original & 1 xerox copy).
- Original Birth Certificate from NSO with 2 xerox copies.
- Two (2) Xerox copies of ITR for 2008 and/or BIR certificate of exemption of both parents/legal guardian/spouse to support your income declaration. (One copy should be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs for categorization).
- Photo 2x2 (3 copies). Write your name at the back of each copy with your signature.
- Medical Clearance from the UPVCC Health Services.
- Letter of good moral character from former school (2 copies).
- Valedictorians/Salutatorians/With Honors - submit an official certificate from the principal which states:
- scholastic honor received
- rank in the honor roll,
- secondary course taken,
- number of graduates in the course

GRADUATE STUDIES |
Masters of Management |
Admission to the program:
- possesion of a bachelor's degree from a university or college of recognized standing;
- a weighted average of 2.5 (or its equivalent) or better;
- two years supervisory/managerial work experience;
- passing the Graduate Studies Admission Test;
- recommendations from former college professors and from an employer or supervisor;
- official transcript of records;
- submission of completed form for admission

Graduate Studies on Environmental Studies |
Admission to the program:
- An applicant must hold a bachelor's degree in the biological or physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, economics or other related fields. The applicant should have a general Weighted average of 2.5 or better.
- Application forms should be forwarded to the Program for Enviromental Studies, Natural Sciences and Math Division, UPV Cebu College, Gorordo Ave., Lahug, Cebu City not later than March 15 for the first semester of each school year. The application form should be submitted with the following documents:
- an original copy of the official transcript of records
- certification of proficiency in English, if English is not the medium of instruction in the country of origin
- an application fee of Php 159 for Filipino citizens and US $25 for foreign nationals in bank draft or money order
- letters of recommendation from at least two former professors or immediate supervisors must also be sent separately to the above address.
- Successful applicants are admitted on a probationary basis until they pass the Orientation Course on Environmental Studies.
- All incoming foreign students from countries where English is not a medium of instruction must take an English proficiency examination.

TRANSFEREES |
Undergraduate Transfer Students |
A transfer applicant may be admitted every first semester of each school year provided that:
- He/she has enrolled in a degree program in another school.
- He/she has obtained a weighted average grade of 2.0 or better, for all the collegiate academic units he/she has taken outside the University;
- He/she will have to complete in the University not less than 50% of units required for his/her program;
- The quota set by the Dean of the College concerned has not been filled up; and
- He/she has earned at least 33 academic units
Every new transfer applicant should submit the following at least one month prior to registration:
- Transcript of Records/ True Copy of Grades
- Application form with 2" x 2" photo (2 copies)
- Non-refundable fee of P100
- Original NSO Birth Certificate with 2 xerox copies
- If qualified, he/she should submit an official copy of his/her transcript of records, certificate of transfer credential or honorable dismissal, including 4 to 6 above.

CROSS REGISTRANTS |
Within the University A student who wants to cross-register in Diliman or another regional unit must fill up the application for cross-registration form available at the CSO. If the request is approved, he/she accomplishes the cross-registration form (UP Form 5-B). The student must pay the registration fee at UPVCC Cashier's Office before bringing his/her UP Form 5-B to the UP unit he/she is cross-registering. The total number of credits for which a student may cross-register in a college should not exceed the maximum allowed by the rules on academic load. No additional fee is charged if the total number of units does not exceed 21 units.
From Another Institution
The University gives no credit for any course taken by any of its students in any other institution unless the taking of such course was authorized by the President. This written authorization is to be recorded by the University Registrar and should specify the subjects authorized. Back to top |
Advanced Credits |
An admitted undergraduate transfer student must validate all courses he/she has taken for advanced credits at the rate of at least 18 units a semester from the date of admission. His/her admission will be on probation basis until he/she shall have validated or repeated,in accordance with the rule on validation of courses, all subjects taken outside UP and which are required for his/her degree program. The student will not be allowed to enroll in a subject the prerequisites of which, taken elsewhere, have not yet been validated or repeated as the case may be.
Application for advanced credits should be made on the prescribed form to the Dean. Validating tests begin two weeks prior to the first day of registration of the opening of each semester and one week after the last day of registration. There is no fee for validating tests taken during the period. A validating test may be held outside of this period with the consent of the department and the approval of the Dean and upon payment of a fee of P20.00 per subject. |

Foreign Students |
